Mixed emotions

Obviously everyone knows now that we have a new president...officially. And I am filled with very mixed feelings. I LOVE President Bush...I do. I am a fiscally conservative, prolife, Bible reading chick. But I am very proud of the strides our country has made in the area of racial equality. I am proud to be able to tell my son that it REALLY doesn't matter what your skin color is. Anyone can be president if they work hard. That being said, I am concerned about the direction this president will lead but I will be praying for him to have wisdom and that his presidency is sucessful!
God Bless Barack Obama.

I totally agree with you! I am so excited that our children get to grow up in a world where having an African American president is "normal"! But, I agree that I differ in policy. Thankfully we know that our God is in control!

Watching the inauguration coverage was a bittersweet experience for me, too. I told Tim that I will miss President Bush. I was sad watching him board the helicopter. He stood for what so many of us believe in--and suffered the consequences. Even though I didn't vote for him, I have to respect President Obama as the leader of our country because I know God placed him in the White House.
