Every morning when I wake Jayden up, we lay in bed and talk about what we have to do that day. This morning I told him that we need to pack to go to MeeMaw and Pop's house tomorrow. That prompted a conversation about what we like to do at MeeMaw and Pop's house. We talked about the tractor, about MeeMaw's new car, his new blue car seat that he is very excited about, toys, and making Pop's bed (I don't know what that is about.)
Then Jayden sat up in bed and said "I like Pop. I like his beard."
Me: "Yes Jayden, Pop has a nice white beard."
Jayden: "I want a beard."
Me: "Well, when you are older you can have one."
Jayden: "Pop is old."

Sorry Pop!

Jacob is the winner!

For those who thought that I couldn't possibly make a bigger baby than Jayden, you were wrong!
Jacob had his two month checkup last Thursday. He weighs 14 pounds, 10 ounces at 10 weeks old. So I decided to check Jayden's baby book and see what he weighed at two months. When Jayden was 11 weeks old, he weighed 14 pounds, 5 ounces.
So, we have a new winner in the chubbiest Tarbet baby contest!!!

4th of July

We had a wonderful holiday, just hanging out as a family. We grilled burgers for lunch and steaks for dinner. We also made homemade ice cream and fried strawberries.
We finally replaced our outdoor furniture. Ours was damaged by ice and the insurance company gave us money to replace it (along with fixing the water damaged caused by a leak this winter). We found a great seet that we loved and it was on sale. Even better, it was an additional 30% of the clearance price!
Jayden loved the fireworks and Josh worked on teaching him the pledge of allegiance. "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the...What else?"
When he was playing outside on his slide, Josh heard him say "Oh my gosh! Holy cow!" THe rest of the day, the phrase was shortened to "Oh my cow!" He cracks me up!
We put him down for a late nap and let him stay up late shooting off fireworks and watching our neighborhood go NUTS with fireworks. There was a huge one that went off on the next street over. Josh told Jayden "That was a hundred dollars right there!" After that, everytime a firework went off, Jayden exclaimed "it's a thousand dollars!!!"
It got loud and crazy in our neighborhood around 10:00 so Jacob and I went inside and watched from my bed.

As I am writing this, I am sitting next to Jayden, the play dough man. He is singing "Do Lord" and saying "Don't cut me. That makes me sad." Jacob is taking a litle nap and has a doctors appointment today. He is going to get shots. In the words of Jayden "That makes me sad."
